Avena 100 Series
A wolf in sheep's clothing!
The above expression certainly applies to this charger. The Avena is particularly easy to use for the end users: plug & play. But inside, the charger is packed with technology for a reliable charging process and to give the battery the best care. The Avena can be permanently connected to the 230VAC. The charger only switches on when the battery is connected. If the battery is not present, the consumption from the mains is negligible. Very easy: the charger does not necessarily have to be plugged in and out of the socket. The charger can simply remain connected to the mains voltage if that is more convenient.
Automatic charging process
The moment the battery is connected, the battery charger switches on and the fully automatic charging process starts immediately. If the charger is still charging, the red light is on. Once the battery is full, the green light will illuminate. The charger then switches to a maintenance state. In this position the battery is kept on voltage. So even if the wheelchair or scooter is not used for a longer period of time, you can simply leave it connected so that the Avena charger can continue to do its job. If the charger detects a problem after connecting to the battery or during charging, a red light will light up. The charger continuously monitors the charging process and is equipped with many protections, including a triple (!) temperature monitoring. A safe charging process is therefore paramount!
Ease of use
The charger is also equipped with the special plug to connect the charger to the battery. The length of the battery cable is no less than 2 meters, so no problem if the charger has to be placed a little further away. The housing is easy to handle and weighs less than a kilo.
Suppliers/commercial users
For professionals who want to get technically more out of the battery charger, the Avena also offers even more options. The first important feature of the Avena is to adapt the charging voltage and the charging program to the respective lead battery. As a standard setting, a voltage of 28.2V high level and 27.6V low level is charged. But these voltages can be adjusted to further optimize the charger, for the battery in question. With the help of the installation manual (supplied on request) you can go through the extensive technical properties, protections and possibilities.
Data logging
But this target group can even go a step further. The Avena 100 has the option for data logging. By means of a mini SD card, the charging history can be read in the dashboard program X-view, supplied on request. With this, important (service) questions regarding the battery can be answered. A great service tool with which cost savings can be achieved! The option to read the loading history and the associated dashboard program X-view is only intended for business users and is therefore not made available for private use.
